Claudia Dey, our homegrown multi-hyphenate– actress/ playwright/ acclaimed novelist/ fashion icon/ mother etc. etc.–will be sitting down to discuss her sophomore genre-bending mystery fiction ‘Heartbreaker’ with us August 22.

The Hollywood Reported described 'Heartbreaker' as a mashup of Stranger Things and Martha Marcy May Marlene; the story begins as a mystery set in 1985, with the fifteen-year-old narrator Pony Darlene Fontaine attempting to investigate the sudden disappearance of her mother. As the novel unravels it turns into a much stranger and more engrossing tale uncovering Pony's world–an isolated town founded decades earlier by an enigmatic cult leader and run on a sinister economic resource.
