Getting to know the Bad Girl
DR. andrea gelinas is a mother,
founder of a (cool) dental studio,

DR. Andrea Gelinas | owns a dental studio that aims to change the way dentistry is presented and perceived by reinventing the entire experience, right down to her on-brand Pantone matched sea foam green drool bibs. Her studio feels more like a trendy art gallery than a place for outing cavities: with gorgeous brass fixtures throughout, original artwork in each patient room, a tropical selfie haven in the washroom and the best coffee table book collection we've seen stocked in the waiting room. Dr. Gelinas aims to make that dreaded dentist trip a lot less (may even dare say enjoyable) by explaining the often unexplained, offering up full transparency at every step of your visit and making sure you feel stylishly comfy. She even sends you home with a handwritten 'Thank You' card along with a meme-esque branded tote bag and an array of Pantone matched dental essentials.
What inspired you to start your new-age dental studio? | I was working at a dentist office that was sold to a corporation. Working for a huge company wasn’t how I envisioned practicing dentistry. It made me look deeper and reflect on what dentistry meant to me and why I fell in love with it in the first place. I realized in that moment that I wanted to build my own office and practice dentistry the way I believe, by putting the patient’s needs first.
